WHAT IF WE COUDL HAVE A 3RD ARM? WHEN DO YOU THINK IT COULD BE USEFUL?

We catch a cold, we take a cold relief.
Wouldn't it be great if there is a remedy for a break-up too? something that would make you feel just a little bit better...until you are okay again one day.

This is a short speculative story conceived & produced in just one afternoon, during my summer workshop at Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design(CIID). The brief was about 'what if we have a 3rd arm?'

I had an inspiration from all the happy couples and families walking by the aisles in Ikea I've seen, and remembered thinking how lonely those who might have just come out a relationship would feel in comparison, while having to go through the moving process alone.

The settings are not perfect as we've used what's inside the facilities inside the CIID building. The empty bottles in the beginning signify the dejectedness - in the end, there is a glass of water half full, showing how our antagonist was slowly getting over the break-up and we learn that he’s going to be okay, thanks to, oh well, our 'break-up relief'. :)

It also very lightly touches upon the potential of  a machine companion. What if Alexa has a mechanical arm? Could something like this be a reality nearer than what we  would think?

It's a little different from my other work, but the warmth & the humanity ( I hope) come through in this film is an ingredient are something I want to keep in everything I do.

A huge thanks to Taylor & Evan.
